The works were located on a 3.8 hectare brownfield site in the East End of Glasgow, for the establishment of a purpose built, fully serviced site for approx. 54 no. semi-permanent mobiles home plots with the provision of approx. 6,300m2 of parking area for HGVs and trailers. The project – carried out under NEC Option A conditions of contract – consisted of site clearance and remediation works, earthworks and platforming, framework landscaping, reinforced concrete retaining structures, removal of silt from, and repairs to, the Camlachie Burn culvert, roadworks, and provision of drainage. The contaminated brownfield site required treatment and disposal of hydrocarbon impacted soil, invasive species, industrial dyes and asbestos.
