This NEC 3 Option A contract was for the construction of a 5-turbine wind farm on the remote island of Sanday, 30 miles north of mainland Orkney. It included the removal of 3 no. existing turbines and replacement with 5 no. new Vestas turbines. Works included construction of roads, hardstandings, turbine foundations and a new welfare building. RJ McLeod undertook the Principal Contractor role until the end of the commissioning phase.
